Ann M. Seidl, a beloved resident of Eau Claire, tragically lost her life in a fatal hit-and-run accident in Dunn County. She was 54 years old. Ann was found early Saturday morning on County Highway Y, having been struck by a vehicle while out for a run. Despite wearing bright clothing and a reflective safety vest, the driver left the scene.
Authorities later arrested 17-year-old Addison Bowell, who now faces multiple charges, including homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle.
Ann was a dedicated runner and an integral part of the Eau Claire Marathon community. She qualified for the Boston Marathon at the Eau Claire Marathon in 2016 and was a devoted member of myTEAM TRIUMPH Eau Claire Group. Her enthusiasm for running was shared with her son, Parker Abts, and she was frequently seen both racing and supporting him throughout his journey.
The Eau Claire Marathon committee expressed their sorrow: “Ann was one of our most dedicated participants, and we will deeply miss seeing her both on the course and cheering for Parker.”
